Art Education
My work as an artist and educator is grounded in the belief that creativity develops through observation, experimentation, and purposeful making. Before becoming a classroom teacher, I spent nearly a decade as a professional sports illustrator, creating digital artwork and visual campaigns for professional sports organizations and brands. That experience continues to inform my teaching by connecting technical skills, design thinking, and real-world creative practice.
As an educator, I create project-based studio experiences that balance technical instruction with conceptual exploration across drawing, painting, sculpture, and digital media. I emphasize process, critique, and reflection, encouraging students to take creative risks, develop confidence in their ideas, and build the skills needed to sustain a meaningful creative practice.
The following materials provide an overview of my Art Fundamentals curriculum, including a comprehensive curriculum guide, sample lesson plans, instructional resources, and examples of student supports.
